Signs and sacraments are typological. They point to a greater reality, yet they are not a barrier in receiving it. Receiving the type (sign) by faith is receiving the antitype (thing signified).

Receiving and enjoying a type by faith, in the OT, was how you received and enjoyed Christ and His blessings.

It’s the same way we enjoy types (signs) today (sacraments, marriage, Sabbath).
